Visitor information
Privacy notice
Updated 4 November 2026
This website records participation in the exhibition and its interactive artworks. This notice explains the information collected and how it is used.
Website operator and privacy contact
The website operator is ASOCIAȚIA TEHNOARTE, Timișoara, Romania, tax identification number (CUI) 44138189. For questions about personal data or requests concerning participation records and generated portraits, contact aurabalanescu@yahoo.com.
Your participation choice
Accept enables the collection below and access to the interactive editions. Do not accept keeps presentation pages available without optional participation analytics. Camera and microphone permissions remain separate. You can withdraw future collection through Visitor preferences at any time.
Participation records
After acceptance we record a random session code, full IP address, date and time, browser user agent, available device and viewport information, language, timezone, referring domain and limited campaign tags. We record page visits, time actively spent, navigation, artwork launches, Start, pause, exit, fullscreen, control changes, sampled pointer and touch coordinates, clicks, scroll, permission outcomes and generation events.
We record navigation and interactions with the artworks to reconstruct the session journey, exclusively for internal research and improving exhibitions. We do not archive camera images or audio recordings. Administrators can reconstruct and replay the recorded visit, view session timelines and interaction heatmaps, compare page visits with artwork starts, export the archive and remove records. A session is not a verified individual. We do not request names, precise location, contact details or identity documents. An IP address and device information may still be personal data.
What is excluded
Analytics does not collect text-field contents, passwords, camera frames or audio recordings. The replay reconstructs the website and artwork settings from permitted events and states; it is not a camera, microphone or screen video recording. Personal camera imagery is masked, and particle effects may differ from the original. Device information is limited to what the browser exposes; we do not inspect other applications, files or browsing history.
Camera and microphone artworks
Desert Storm processes camera images locally to create a silhouette. Inverted Panopticon keeps temporary facial reflections in memory on your device and lets them fade; those images are not uploaded. Breathing Fields reads local microphone intensity, with no saved or uploaded audio. Camera and microphone access requires browser permission and stops when the artwork closes or goes into the background.
Feature Fusion contributions
You may view the collective portrait and its gallery without contributing an image. Before each contribution, a separate checkbox explains that one camera image will be sent to OpenAI for image generation and that the generated result will be saved and published in the exhibition gallery. The previous generated portrait can also be sent as input to carry selected traits into the next work.
The application does not store the original webcam capture on disk or in its archive. It handles the selected image in memory for the request. The saved output is the generated portrait, with generation date and time, selected traits, model, processing status and its place in the collective sequence. A generated portrait may still resemble a participant; it is not guaranteed to be anonymous. Do not contribute an image of another person without their permission.
OpenAI processes the image as an API provider. API content is not used for model training by default; default abuse-monitoring logs may retain input and output for up to 30 days. This project does not claim Zero Data Retention. See OpenAI’s API data controls. Processing by external providers may involve international transfers.
Retention and withdrawal
The exhibition archive has no automatic expiry for participation records, reconstructed sessions or generated portraits. Retention is reviewed against the continuing needs of internal research and exhibition improvement; records can be deleted when no longer needed or following an applicable request. A session closes after 30 minutes of inactivity; this does not delete its archived events. Administrators can configure session retention and delete or export records. Images are managed separately.
Withdrawal stops future participation collection and closes interactive editions. It does not automatically erase previously collected records or published outputs. Removing a generated portrait cannot undo features that have already been carried into later portraits. The scope of any deletion request must therefore be reviewed across the collective archive.
Recipients and access
Participation records and full IP addresses are available only in the authenticated statistics console. Visitors see published generated portraits and their dates, not session metadata or IP addresses. SIDECUBE provides website development, hosting and technical administration. Cloudflare handles delivery and security. Google Analytics is not connected.
Cookies and technical records
The browser remembers your choice for 30 days. A secure session cookie connects accepted events; a separate cookie authenticates administrators. Feature Fusion keeps only a pending request identifier in tab storage. See Cookies & storage for the inventory.
Hosting, proxy and security systems receive technical requests, which can include IP addresses, URLs, browser information and timestamps, independently of optional analytics. These technical records are separate from participation analytics.
